When we set out in the morning, we discover Jo has his second flat. This time it’s the front tyre. So out come the tools again. We had planned to make an early start and get some mileage done but it seems we have to change our plans again.
Our second flat, this time Jo’s front wheel.

That center stand was quite a good investment
Out come the tyre irons

in the mean time dark clouds are moving in again.

The first tyre we replace seems to be punctured as well… We patch it up and in it goes again.
The new tyre seemed to be punctured as well, so a quick fix for that
This time it seems to hold, so we put the inner tyre carefully in and then we’re ready to go!
Nicely fixed, ready to be mounted again
Pumping
And we’re all ready to go
Ready to go!
We ride further west through the Czech countryside and it feels like we’re riding constantly on a mountain rim. The views out on both sides of the route are just stunning.

We stop for a quick picknick at Kacov castle. It seems it was quite an important site in history but now it is mainly a nice but run down location for wedding parties.
Lunch next to the castle at Kacov. We only get to see the ugly side apparently.
Religiously inspired statue at Kacov
Wheat fields
Taking a breather
Wide open views and dramatic skies in the Czech Republic
The landscape seems to change every fifteen minutes

We find a camp site with views on the lake near Plesnice, not too far from the German border. In the end we did get the mileage done we were aiming for and we had a beautiful day on the bikes.

When I'm not out there discovering the world on my motorbike, you can find me crouched on the sofa dreaming of far away destinations in travel guides, blogs and maps.
