Day one. We decided to make an early start and do a stretch of highway first to get some mileage done.
So at 6.30 AM we are ready to get going.
First fuel stop along the German autobahn and immediately I feel special! I got my own parking spot!
Just after Koblenz we leave the highway and head further east.
On the map I spotted a nice twisty road along the Main river and we decide to change the route a bit.
So on to the highway it is again. With the rising temperatures and the newly mounted screens on the Terras, that is hardly a punishment.
Not even noon and it’s already nearing 30°…
After Wiesbaden we head south towards Miltenberg and from there we follow the Main along the Nibelungenstrasse towards Wertheim.
We find a nice pick nick spot next to the Main.
Our bench is filled with common truths…
They also had some water troubles here in the past.
In Furth we stop for a breather and a much deserved Eiskaffee! Icecream and caffeine… Just what I need right now!
Nurnberg is hot as hell and seems endless. When we finally get out of town it’s already nearing 5PM so we start looking for a campsite. Jo spots a sign in Berg. Not the cheapest site but we do get a room with a view.
Dinner is served in town and it turns out to be Jagerschnitzel with beer.
Back at the campsite a big thunderstorm starts brewing so we decide to make it an early night. It has been a long day as well.
